Takefusa Kubo has committed his future to Real Sociedad by signing a new long-term contract with the club.
The 22-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in 2027, but he has now signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2029.
“I’m very happy to be able to renew with this great club that has welcomed me very well and I’m very happy here,” Kubo said.
“A lot of things (reasons why he renewed), but above all the good feeling I have with my team-mates, with the fans and with the sporting direction, with everyone. The good feeling (I have) led me to this.”
“I don’t want this to be the news of the week. I personally want the news of the week to be the victory at Parc des Princes and we’ll give everything to do that.”
The Japan international joined Real Sociedad from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022, going on to become one of the Spanish club’s most important players.
He has scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 71 games, helping Real Sociedad qualify for the Champions League for the first time in ten years in the 2022-23 season.
Real Sociedad, who are seventh in La Liga, are next in action against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.
