Premier League clubs vote for major shake up below first team level

Premier League clubs have voted through big changes at reserve / under 21 level.

At last week’s AGM, it turns out that Newcastle United and the other 19 PL clubs voted to scrap the current league set up, below first team level.

Instead of having two divisions and promotion / relegation, the 25 Category One Academies will instead field an under 21 team in the same league next season.
